Conwy Borough FC vs Greenfield FC

Conwy Borough FC start their home campaign off with a 4-1 victory over Greenfield FC

The first half was a very tight affair between Conwy and Greenfield with very few chances. The 30th minute is where the first real chance of the game came and it fell to Conwy’s Kevin Lloyd who was able to create some space and get his shot away with Danny Stanton able to get down low to save for Greenfield. Tommy Creamer was then denied just before half time with a fingertip save as the first half ended 0–0.

Second half started and as people were still making their way back to their seats, Conwy lose the ball within their own penalty area and Tom Carney didn’t hesitate to punish them and gave Greenfield FC the lead. The tempo of the game picked up and Conwy found themselves level within four minutes thanks to a Corrig McGonigle freekick that went in off the crossbar with the goalkeeper rooted to the spot. Conwy continued to pressure and they were then awarded a penalty in the 70th minute which Corrig despatched with confidence for his second goal of the game. Not too long after Greenfield thought they should have had a penalty themselves but it was waved off by the referee. Within minutes of the penalty shout, Liam Jones was shown a second yellow card and was sent off reducing Greenfield to ten men. Taking advantage of the extra man Conwy started to boss the game and in the 85th minute a ball over the top allowed Tommy Creamer in behind who unselfishly squared it to Corrig who rifled it into the top corner to grab his hat-trick. Tommy Creamer finally got himself onto the scoresheet in the final seconds of the game. When he picked up the ball around Greenfield’s penalty spot was able to turn and lose his marker before hitting it low into the bottom corner as the goalkeeper dove but failed to get there.

Finally whistles goes and Conwy Borough FC make it three wins in three and move top of the table on goal difference.
