Conwy Borough defeated fellow strugglers Llanfair United at Y Morfa Stadium on Wednesday Night to secure a crucial win and move off bottom spot and upto 13th place, although both Llanfair Utd and Mold Alex have games in hand.
The Tangerines former Fleetwood Town striker, Alex Titchiner, produced another lively performance and he cooly slotted home inside the box in the 10th minute after good work by Adam Hold down the left hand side. From then on the Tangerines tried to force a second goal with the main chances falling to Titchiner and strike partner Steve Foster but as time ticked on the home sides play became more nervous which led to a tense finish. However, Josh Cook in the Conwy goal barely had a save to make all match and he recorded a clean sheet for the first time for the club since the Ruthin home win back in November.
Also worthy of a mention was Neil Harvey who played through injury and travelled some distance from work to play for his side and he was excellent at the heart of the Tangerines defence along with Tom Quinn, with injury ruling out Tom Morris who was supporting his side from the dugout.
The win brings to an end a four match losing streak and the Tangerines now have four matches left, with three of those games away from home.
Next up is a trip to Guilsfield on Saturday and another positive result is the target. The club is hoping for as much support as possible to get behind the team in the remaining games as the survival battle continues.
