About Strike-It Steve

Conwy Borough Football Club revealed its new club mascot as part of an arts project that was in 2012 in partnership with local schools and North Wales Housing.
The project involved schoolchildren taking part in a competition to design a new club mascot with participants from North Wales Housing spending a day at the club producing some striking wall art within the stadium featuring the new mascot.

After a great deal of deliberation the club chose the winning design by Elizabeth McQueen from Ysgol Llangelynnin in Year 5 for the new mascot.
We want to say a huge thank you to her fantastic drawing and the name of our the mascot - a Knight - called 'Strike-It Steve'.

Elizabeth was introduced to "Strike it Steve" and presented with his birth certificate at a home game where he was unveiled in front of supporters before kick-off.
Ysgol Glan Conwy, Ysgol Pencae and Ysgol Llanfelynnin participated in the project with a great response from the children who took part.

Colin Davies, the club's goalkeeper coach, helped to supervise the project along with Vi-Ability sports coach and Conwy Borough FC player Scott Roberts.
Colin said: "The children's response to the new mascot project has been brilliant, the schools have been very supportive. We hope that more projects will be run in the future to help the club build relationships in the local area through learning and sports activity."
In addition to the new mascot, the club unveiled the new wall Artwork featuring "Strike It Steve" in the South West corner of the ground.
Conwy Borough thanks local artist Andy Birch and his volunteer group from North Wales Housing and "Frenzy Creative" for turning Elizabeth's drawing into a reality.
The club would like to thank the orgainsations that supported the project including; Vi-ability Social Enterprise, Conwy County Borough Council Arts Development Grant, North Wales Housing and The Knight Shop in Conwy.
