Perry Clinches Further Signings

By Conwy Admin

Conwy Borough Manager Gareth Thomas has added more players to his squad ahead of Saturdays first pre-season run-out at Mynydd Isa (KO 2.30pm).

Gethin Maxwell - Another to join from last seasons champions Glantraeth. A 24 year old central midfielder who began career at Chester City FC before studying at Cardiff University where he played for Cardiff Met. Gethin also has also represented Welsh Schools and Welsh Colleges.

Phil Warrington - A pacey 21 year old forward who joins the club from Caernarfon Town and has previously played for Bangor City in the Welsh Premier League. Phil can also operate out on the wing.

Ceirion Hall - A 21 year old goalkeeper who was with Nantlle Vale last season. Has also represented the Coleg Menai team for three years and was part of the side that won the Welsh Colleges Cup on two occasions.

Ryan Woods - Another goalkeeper who joins from Abergele Town and was previously at the club during Aden Shannons reign. A strong keeper who commands his area well and has great distribution.

Rhys Cooper - Speedy winger who joins from Mold Alex. A quick and direct player who has played at both TNS and Bangor City under 19s. Rhys had a spell at Denbigh Town last year before work commitments curtailed his season.

“We are trying to get a young squad together with a hunger to succeed and these players have bought into this.” said the Conwy Borough manager. "The players have had opportunities to go to other clubs but they where all happy to sign and look to help the club get back challenging for honours.”

The management team have brought in former Warrington Wolves and current RGC Strength and Conditioning coach, Mark Lewin, to put the players through their paces in pre-season. The players have responded well to the intensive sessions as Gareth and his backroom staff look to improve the fitness levels of the side this season.
