Manager's Thoughts on Weekend Against Gresford

1 year ago By Joseph Walker

Gutted for the boys was the reaction from Perry following the Gresford game

"Anyone who watched this will tell you the lads didn’t deserve the scoreline which flattered the home side. We played superbly for 70 minutes I felt and didn’t get the rub of the green. First half we were the better side once we settled, the 2nd goal for them on half time was a disgrace as the lad was a good 5 yards off side and we stopped and switched off. If we had gone in all square at half time I would have fancied our chances but it’s not to be."

"We conceded early in the 2nd half and had to chase the game, we had a good go, but it wasn’t enough today. The last 2 goals have come in the closing minutes with us chasing the game but yet again I have to question the officials and having seen the video the lad headed home with no defender in sight."

"Overall I'm proud of the lads we said prior to the game today would be a good test of how, as a club, we are at playing higher opposition and I feel we have acquitted ourselves well. You have got to have a few things go for you in games like this and today we got nothing from the officials, who must be said were poor for both sides today. We will dust ourselves down and be back in Monday as we start to prepare for a massive local derby next week at Llandudno Albion."
